Saturday was a busy day around here. Amanda's soccer game was in Saratoga Springs! She and I headed south about 10:45am for her game. Mike stayed home with the other 2 kids, took Brandon to his game and then did some yard work.
Amanda played forward and defense. She played so great! They won this game 5-0 and we were so happy about it! Papa Jim came to the game, too!
Right after we got home from the game, I had to get Sydney ready for her cheer comp at Weber State. We left Amanda and Brandon at home this time. We had to be there about 4:30 and wait until almost 6 for them to perform. This was a dance comp as well as a cheer comp. It was fun to see dancing.
Sydney is the spot on the ground with her back to us and knees bent.
I like the 'sports' feature of my camera! Almost feels like you were there, right?
They just tossed their 'flyer' and are waiting for her to 'land' in their arms!
Syd has a high kick! Hers is the foot at the top!
And done! That performance won them 1st place!!!
We had about 2 hours to wait before awards, so we went to Friday's for dinner. When we got back to the arena, we sat down and when I looked to see who we were sitting by, it turned out to be Annette Werhli's kids! Pretty soon, she came to sit down and we had a great chat!
Annette and I worked together. Mike & I had gone to school with her older sister, but Annette went to Olympus. So, we met at work. I went to her temple sealing....she came to the hospital just hours after Amanda was born. Her daughter, Kelsey, said she remembers coming to our house in Murray.
We haven't seen each other or chatted for years, so it was a great surprise to be able to see her!
The next cheer comp is at Taylorsville High in May and they will be there, also....so we may have another mini-reunion!
By the time we got home, it was late. It took until 11pm to get kids in bed!
But it was a fun day!
Sunday, we were late for church. We are pretty pathetic. It's not even the kids. It's me and Mike who are never ready!! We didn't go visiting, so we went and played baseball and soccer in the commons. It was great fun, but we need to teach Brandon to be a good sport. He's really competitive!
