Day One

Since we got on the lake in the mid-afternoon, one wouldn't think there would be much time for anything, but Mike did climb rocks....
Brandon did find time to pout about something...I think it was he had to wait for a turn to tube
So, we blew the other tube up so more kids could have fun....
Here's Liz.  She doesn't love water stuff, but she still tubed a bit...
You have to change tubes...look at Syd's straight ballerina legs!
And the kids tubed into the sunset!
We had dinner at the Canyon King and then went to bed!!!

Let Summer Begin!

School wasn't even out a full week before we headed to Lake Powell!
We went with the Wilsons and the Lloyds.  We left at 5:30AM on Wednesday.
Sooooo early, but it was worth it when we were able to get on the lake at 3:00pm!
Liz Wilson, Maddy Lloyd and Amanda!
 My boys!
 Sweet Sydney!
 Zach Wilson and Parker Lloyd

The girls didn't waste much time before they started to play!  Maddy, Sydney and Amanda on the tube!

Amanda Soccer still...

Still struggling with blogger and pictures. I might have to start a new blog:
Anyway, here is Amanda during their team's award ceremony. She was awarded the 'Pretty Player' because she always had bows in her hair!  They gave her pretty barrettes!

 The team...
Here is Amanda during her scoring drive!
Yes, she scored in the last game of the season.
Can you see why the decision to quit soccer was so difficult?
This man is the club trainer, Danny Rennie.  He's so funny!  He's from Belfast, Ireland and says the funniest things.  He coached our last game for us and had parents on the side lines laughing uncontrollably.
So, you know the decision was to stay with this team.  The club replaced our coach with Kelsee Baird. She plays for the REAL soccer women's team.  She was fun, but flakey. She is only 20 years old and when she found out the coach doesn't get paid, she changed her mind.

I got a call from our now current coach one Saturday night late.  He's from El Salvador and his name is Melvin Marius.  Amanda won't let me say Melvin when I am talking about him....she doesn't like his name and I have to say coach instead.

He's hardcore.  We had 2 practices the first week he was our new coach.  He makes the girls do pushups when they miss something.  He also makes me do all the communication for the team.  It's a lot more work than I was expecting.  I have numerous phone calls and emails everyday about this team.
But, the girls are super great and coach is excited about the talent on the team.  We play a tourney in a couple of weeks.  Amanda has to miss almost 2 weeks of soccer for her dance team's summer intensive classes that start Monday.  I just hope coach doesn't make her do too many pushups for missing practice!  Carry on!

Wasatch Tournament

About this time, we decided that Amanda was not going to play soccer next year.  We found out her coach was leaving and taking his daughter with him.  She happens to be our awesome goalie.
Then Amanda played this tourney and really, really wanted to keep playing.  So, we told her if she raised enough $ she could still play next year.
She has loved this team and the girls.
I think the placed 4th in this tourney, but they had a lot of fun.
Amanda is going to do comp dance at Luv2Dance next year.  She is  quitting Clytie Adams School of Ballet.
But, she's still going to be on this team. Between dance tryouts and soccer tryouts, we made it work somehow.

She lost about 3 or 4 friends off this team, but gained new ones.  I went and got myself the team mom job.  I was crazy.  More to come...

Brandon's 1st grade program

blogger keeps giving me problems with my pictures....sorry for the delays!
 Brandon's 1st grade program. So cute! I can't believe he's through 1st grade! It's such a big milestone!

B loves to sing and he's pretty good at it!  He sang every word and did all the actions!

After the program, they kids were supposed to go to recess.  We were lucky to get this smiling picture, but when we tried to get one with Spencer and his mom, Emily, he was NOT happy!

Later that week, Sydney competed in the math & science olympiad at Davis High. She was paired up with someone who didn't listen to her suggestions, so they didn't place, but we are still proud of her for making it that far!

 More tricks on the swings

Happy Birthday Brandon! We love you so much!
