It's a new year.....and some new fun!

New Years Day we slept in! Yea! That's what happens when you party too hard....well, you know-without alcohol! Then, in the afternoon, we took Mikey to the airport so he could go to the Sugar Bowl!!! After dropping him off, we went to G&P Gibby's for some turkey dinner! Rog & Coze and D & Kat were their with their kiddos! Yea more cousin time! We had a nice relaxing time until we started playing cards! Mom taught us a new game from Uncle Gary....fun. Then, bring on Shanghi Rummy! It's a fun game, but I'm way out of my league playing with these card sharks! I lost....big time!

Friday was game day! First on the agenda (because Daddy gave us some fun money!) was to get Sydney's ears pierced! Someday, I'll have to document our first experience with her getting her ears pierced...not pretty. But, she was positive that this is what she wanted....so we did it! She did great! And because she is good at keeping the rules, she is taking really good care of her newly pierced ears. Next, a little lunch and then get Amanda's haircut! Her hair was getting really long, and she kept getting a really bad tangle in the same spot. So, her idea was to cut it shorter to avoid this. She cut off about 3 inches and her hair looks really cute!

Then, party at the Orisons! They have a great tv for game viewing! We ended up screaming and cheering all night long! We were so excited how well our Utes beat up Alabama!!!! Mikey kept texting me throughout the game and he could hardly stand it! I guess later that night he got fever, chills and the flu! He went to the lobby of the hotel at 4am looking for some sleeping pills to help him get some zzzz's and all the lobby clerk could offer was a bottle of wine. I guess that's how they do things in Nawlins....Thanks Rick & Rachel for a great time!

Saturday! Still loving that winning feeling! I spent way too much time this morning looking on-line for stories of our amazing victory! Then, D called and invited us to go watch Ute basketball this afternoon. Rog & Coze and Steve & Abi all came and we had a great afternoon...and guess what! Another Utah win!!!! As we were leaving, Darin exclaimed, "We just can't lose!"

As we were walking across campus to the Huntsman Center, Brandon was in tears! He hates the cold! So, D said maybe it's because he needs a warmer coat ( I know, I have 3 kids...you would think that I would get it by now), so on the way home, we stopped by Kohl's for a new coat. He got a great warm one for 50% off! (and that fits too perfect...let's hope he doesn't grow much until summer).

We had a great New Years weekend! Can't believe how busy we were...we didn't do any housecleaning at all! Yea for us! That can wait until we are back at our regularly scheduled schedule...which starts Monday!

But for now....we are just smiling and remembering our
