We set out on our 2nd annual Lake Powell trip with the ArvyLloySons...Arveseth, Lloyd, Wilson families. Here is Sydney and Halle Davis on top of the houseboat.
Since the water is low this year, the 'cut' isn't open. The 'cut' saves about 10 miles of boating each way every day. Brad Wilson decided that wasn't going to be fun, so he bought a houseboat share!Mike found a fantastic spot to anchor and set up camp. The kids immediately started jumping off the houseboat!
Amanda, Maddy, Liz and Susie (Eames) took summer gym this year. They had to be in school until 4:30p on the day of departure, so we stayed behind to pick them up from gym and drive them to Bullfrog. We stayed the night on the houseboat as it was parked in the Off Shore Marina. Not a very restful night because we found the 2 sleeping bags we brought for Mike & me were NOT warm enough! The kids did great. In the morning, we got breakfast and waited for the marina guys to launch the houseboat.
By the end of the first day, we realized the generator was not working. The next day we packed up this awesome camp area and went to the marina to get someone to look at the generator. It was a long day, but the problem was fixed and we ended up camping in Bullfrog Bay to be closer to the marina should we have another issue with the houseboat. The houseboat was really nice and we enjoyed ourselves a ton! More to come!
