The coaches planned a party for after the tourney/summer that evening. We went to surf n swim, had pizza and rode the waves.
It was fun to embarass Amanda when I took this picture. She wouldn't look at me. I said to the girls say pizza. Two girls responded, so I put on my best annoying Mom voice and said, "I can't hear you!" That got a response and I enjoyed every moment! ;)
Our kids rode the waves. Mike & I were life guards.

It was a nice end to the busy week and a good kick-off to the season. After this party, Keslee (who is assistant coach, Dave's daughter), had another party for the team at her Grandma's house. Back to back soccer parties! We could get used to this! This was truly a party house! The backyard alone was amazing! Huge, tree-lined, terraced, all sorts of activity areas. They even watched a movie outside. Too much fun!

Amanda isn't without injury, however. According to our resident expert, aunt Cath, she has a really tight I.T. band. We need to stretch it out and do a little weight lifing with her lower leg to strengthen her knee. Looks like she inherited the bad Gibson knees....
We also had Mtn. Vistas Day during August. I was helping with the parade. I talked Amanda and Hanalee into carrying the sign. We had a little lunch in the commons area after. Since our neighborhood is two wards, it's nice to get to know others (and the non-members) through this neighborhood party. The kids had a blast! Mike had to bbq for the dinner again and now it's in the books!
