Ah, Lake Powell. How we love thee!

For Mikey's 40th birthday, he wanted to go to Lake Powell! So, we packed up the kids, dropped the dog off at Roger & Cozette's (thanks, guys!) and headed to Bullfrog for 4 days. We got their on Saturday afternoon and it was cold and raining!!! But, we put the boat in the lake anyway and drove around just enjoying the beautiful scenery.
We stayed that first night at the Ticaboo hotel. Not the greatest place, but it worked. (The rest of the nights we stayed at the Definance House lodge and it was nicer). Up bright and early the next day, grabbed a breakfast and were on the lake by 8am.
We tubed and tubed and tubed (we even broke the tube-completely wore a hole in it) and Amanda wakeboarded. We spent a lot of time exploring. I loved Iceburg canyon. It is magnificent!
Looking straight up from the boat....I was laying on the back sun deck

We spent lunches and afternoons in shade underneath overhangs. Mike knows that if you get the boat in the right position, you get close to the rocks, but never hit them. The waves hit the rocks and then bounce you away from the wall. It's pretty cool.
We had a water gun fight for at least an hour one day in the water. We chose up sides (girls v boys) and it was so fun!
We went to Defiance House. You couldn't get to it unless you jumped in the water, traversed through the trees and then climbed up the mountain, so Brandon didn't want to go. He and Mike stayed in the boat while the girls and I make the trek! It was so cool! We climbed down into the Indian ruins (I think they have been restored and aren't fully original) and loved it!

Updating summer

Drake, Cooper, Kash & Sydney!
The Harwoods invited us, Francis' and Morgans up to Emily's parent's house to swim one evening. It was such a busy summer that we hadn't seen our neighbors much. Thanks to the Harwoods, we got to hang out a little. The kids had a blast! Then, a big storm blew in....everyone out of the pool! We ended up hanging in the house for a bit (it's beautiful!).
Even though we were partly rained out, it was a great night with our fun friends! The kids make their own slides! I tried it once...it works better for the kids...
Mike 'throwing' SydneyThe guys played a little water basketball...and dry basketball on the sports court...

You gotta love it, baby!

Thanks Harwoods for a fun night!

Still updating summer

Mike & I decided it was time to take the kids back to Mount Timpanogos. Mike had some points to a hotel that gave us a free night, so we stayed in Provo on a Friday night and got up bright and early on Saturday to hike the trail to the top. We had a great tour guide this time and she made the story of the legend really interesting for the kids.
Everyone hiked great and we had a great time!
Afterward, we wanted to go get lunch. Mike drove us around the BYU campus and told the kids we were going to leave them there, or visit forever, etc.
Amanda said, "This is what bad parents do!"
Manda Panda
Cute lil' bub
At the top waiting for the tour
I love my family! Here we are hiking up!
We ended up having lunch at Brick Oven in Provo....very yummy!
I took Sydney and Brandon swimming at the hotel while Mike & Manda stayed in the room.

Watching 'The Lightening Thief' at the hotel...
We had a great time and love spending time together!
