Sydney learns to wakeboard!

Sydney decided it was time to learn to wakeboard! She did really well at getting out of the water and then would get scared and let go of the rope!

 We did a lot of practicing.  The last day, when none of us had cameras or phones with us with which to take pictures, she finally felt comfortable enough to hang on and took the longest ride ever!  We were so proud of her and so glad that she accomplished this goal while we were at Lake Powell!

Lake Powell - part deux

We left our boat in a slip at night.  It was so great! The first night we left it there was this amazing sunset! I couldn't get enough of it!

 Next day, Amanda got some wakeboarding in.....We want to find a fab picture of her wakeboarding and make it into a poster for her room....

The week after recital week, we headed back to Lake Powell with our friends, the Laws.

 First stop, Antelope Point!

 The kids loved the swim deck and jumped off 1, 2, 3, 4....

2012 Dance Recital in pictures

Amanda's ballet rehearsal

This is Amanda's last ballet recital with Clytie.  She has been sad about it for months, still.

 These were beautiful costumes...Clytie said they were her favorite.

 She also said no flash and I didn't get to use my camera manually because it was happening so fast!

 But, I kind of like the way the pictures turned out anyway.  Amanda listening to her teacher, Jennifer.

 Her dance was beautiful as well.  It was done to booming fast-paced music.

 A lady from our neighborhood, who has daughters that have danced with Clytie for years...one of them is Clytie's fave, said Amanda did so great! She said you can tell a great dancer when they make the technically hard steps look easy.  She is not one to give out too many compliments, so I think Amanda should be proud of herself!

The name of their dance was Gemini, so the background is space.  Amanda is an amazing dancer and we are so proud of her! I admit I'll miss having her in Clytie.  But, I hope that she'll enjoy her new studio even more as she's learning all types of dance, not just ballet.  We love you Amanda!
