Mini Bowl

Our cute football boys made it to the super bowl of little league football!  It's the Mini Bowl!
We had a pep rally, made signs, everyone wore orange...
 Messing around at the rally....
Dad giving Brandon a pep talkxxx

 Great coaches pumping them up!

Amanda was our photographer....National Anthem being played...

 Our fan section!
Look! It's B's name and number on the banner!
 After a score!
So, we played one of the other Kaysville teams. They were also undefeated.  A lot of the kids go to school with Brandon.  One, in particular, is in his class and talks a lot of smack.  We were tied most of the game. It looked like it was going into overtime, when on the last play of the last 30 seconds of the game, this cocky kid from the other team ran it for a touchdown.  Here's where it got ugly.  A flag was thrown by the official.  Then, as the other team coaches yelled at the official, he picked up his flag and waved it off.  Well, one of our coaches went ballistic. It was really bad and the WFFL board members ran out and the cops were called...

Cute grandparents in the cheering section!

A bad ending to a great season! It was probably unfair and the flag being waved off was unfair, but I wasn't happy with our play calling. One of the coach's had a star running back on our team. They ran about every play to him. Well, it didn't take long for the other team to figure that out, so they stopped us every time!  So, that bugged me.
Here's Mike after we lost.  It was a hard loss........but really, we had a great year with great boys and families.  The boys got over the loss quickly. It was the parents who struggled.

We had a team party after we got home from Florida. I did a end of year video for it.  Everyone said it was awesome.  I spent a lot of time in FL working on the video and then on the flight home Mike was burning CD's since we had to go to the party about an hour after we got home!  The coach who lost it wrote each boy a letter.  He was so embarrassed and upset that he acted that way in front of the boys. He wrote the parents an email.  He really is a great guy, he just let his temper get the best of him.  He got banned from coaching in the WFFL  and banned as a coach in Kaysville for 5 years.  The other coach (star kid's dad) got banned from coaching in Kaysville for 5 years.  He coached two of his boy's teams.  Don't feel too badly for them though. They are talking about joining another league that works out of Bountiful.  There was video filmed by the other team about the confrontation that got the one coach banned for life with WFFL, but the city wouldn't release it. It was rumored to clearly show it wasn't all the one coach...that the board member was being aggressive, too.  Nice cover up on the city and the league.. ANYWAY, Brandon will still play for Kaysville next year. We'll see what happens!  All these boys would eventually play for Davis....so even though we hate the cocky kid...he'll be a team mate someday.....We are proud of our Brandon!  It was a fun year!

Amanda Halloween Dance

Thank goodness we had the Halloween dance on the same day as the loss in the Mini Football Bowl for Brandon. I'll post that after this....I ran over to Cherry Hill after the game to help set up food and tables and chairs on the big Pirate ship at the water park!  Cherry Hill is owned by the Lloyd family.  We are lucky to know Adam and Melanie and Maddy has been Amanda's friend forever.  So, they got special permission for us to have their dinner on the pirate ship!  We had Cafe Rio cater and it was AWESOME!

 The whole group!

 Amanda and Susie...
Susie, Maddy, Boston, Amanda, Corey & Johnny

They had a blast at the dance and then after they rented out Classic Skating and hung out until curfew!  I'm so glad she had such a great time on her first high school dance!!

Chasing Trains

My Mom and Dad are working on decorating my Dad's train room. They came and picked me up one beautiful October day and we went chasing trains and landscapes.  We ended up driving all the way to Evanston!  Stopped and had lunch and then on the way back, saw this train.  My Dad drove 50-60mph and I took these photos out the window as we were driving!  I love how they turned out!  Gave a bunch to my Dad for Christmas printed on canvas and they are working to get the rest.  I love the train shots, so I wanted to post them here. My Dad wanted more of the landscape shots.  But it was all fun to take and I couldn't ask for better company!
